Simona Susnea

Simona is a London based cinematographer with European/British nationality.

An alumna of the NFTS, she works between fashion, features, commercials and art films. Her most recent credits are the mega hit TV series, “Heartstopper” for Netflix and Leo Leigh’s 16mm debut feature produced by Somesuch and Co. Simona was awarded Best Cinematography at the 2019 BAFTA Qualifying Underwire Film Festival and earned an Emerging Cinematographer nomination from the British Society of Cinematographers the same year. Simona’s background in fine art and still photography shaped her strong aesthetic as a cinematographer, particularly her lighting sensibilities and her love for shooting on film. Her work has been screened at Oscar and BAFTA qualifying film festivals world-wide, shown in galleries and museums in Europe, USA and Australia and nominated for a Turner Prize in the UK. Her most current released feature film is “AUDREY”, a feature length creative documentary about Audrey Hepburn for Universal Pictures, available on all major VOD platforms (Amazon, Netflix and Apple). She’s an avid film photographer, inspired by music, dance, movement and drumming.
