Born in Santa Barbara, Marz studied cinematography in LA and was mentored by Affonso Beato, ASC (All About My Mother, Ghostworld, The Queen).

Whilst a student he received a prestigious, ASC nomination for his cinematography. He has since won and been nominated for awards SXSW Nom, YDA Cannes Win (Silver, North America), had write ups on Director’s Notes, Vimeo Staff Pick and premiered and featured on Flaunt, iD, Showstudio, NOWNESS, Vogue, Nylon. Marz is still only 26.

With a view of cinematography that simplicity is beauty and less is more, Marz loves shooting film. His belief that the immediacy and true nature of film affords a different understanding and approach from that of shooting digitally.

Marz works regularly with production companies such as RSA, Anonymous Content, HPLA, Snowbeach and with directors such as Ramez Silyan, Albert Moya, Zoe Ghetner, Charlotte Wales, Yoni Lappin, Nadia Lee Cohen, Marie Schuller, Greg Barnes & Daniel Lee. Marz is also currently prepping his first feature.
