Willy Busfield

Director and cinematographer Willy Busfield has lensed commercial advertisement campaigns for dozens of luxury apparel and cosmetic brands including Chanel, Hermes, Gucci, La Mer, Tiffany & Co. and Glossier.

His editorial work has been seen in Vogue, CR Fashion Book, Homme Girls and Twin Magazine. He has produced and directed over thirty episodes of network and cable television. As cinematographer Willy’s most recent work includes Jocelyn Wildenstein’s official documentary for HBO which is set to release in 2023 and “Mamus” which Willy shot over two years with frequent collaborator Jacques Naudé in the farthest reaches of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains of Colombia.

He holds both a BFA (2007) and MFA (2009) from California Institute of the Arts where he studied film under the mentorship of James Benning. The son of two actor/directors, his childhood was split between his father’s theatre company in northern California and Santa Fe, New Mexico where his mother was acting in Spaghetti Westerns.

He currently splits his time between New York and Los Angeles with his wife and children.
